Title: Light settings. From the ordinary to the transcendent, from the permanent to the evanescent

Artists: Corina Coria y Maru Pascariello

Curators: Maria Emilia Marroquín, Nora Arrechea, Silvia Dick Naya

A photography exhibition where opposite themes addressed by both artists (“The Tension of the Opposites" by Corina and “Harmony and Beauty" by Maru) meet each other in a minimalist and abstract aesthetic, and in the joy of working light as matter, not as a photographic technique.

Light delineates scenes, particular cuts and spiritual moments. In Corina´s case, a search of intimacy with what she sees and what is there takes her to “shape the light until it becomes matter, toying with the limit between abstract and representational”. Maru Pascariello pursues “light itself”, bringing it to the center of the stage: "Light as object, and at the same time untouchable, beautiful and evanescent".

The moment of the shot is essential for both artists, what the camera captures; what one sees. That particular moment, says Corina, “is when a union reveals an unprecedented reality”.

“Each shot represents a moment of light captured forever”, assures Maru.

Both of them work without retouch or post-production.
